Aloha from sunny New York City!
oh wait. Let me try again.
Greetings from the Frozen Tundra that lies north of Baltimore!
Better.
I've moved into a cute sublet in Brooklyn and am rooming with a young, fun personal trainer.
The building is easily 100 years old, but I don't know its exact dates.
It's old enough to have a picture rail and beautiful mouldings and accents on the ceilings.
And Medusa lives on the table.
I've had about a week of work in stage carpentry and electrics and it's been wonderful.
I've had two interviews with universities that I've applied to and both went very well. We'll see.
I'm sleeping on an inflat-o-bed and it's comfortable but I feel I should find something that gets me further than 8" off the floor. And yes, I borrowed the tiger blanket.
I've gotten to know my way around Greenwich Village to a limited extent and have not as yet gone hungry due to being lost. It is helpful that I live right off the A subway line, which has gotten me everywhere I've needed to go with at most one line change. I'm sure this will change.
I'm applying for temp work as I do hope my stay here in lovely New York is temporary. We'll see.
